LBL Rescue has been working closely with the Murray Calloway County Animal Shelter in trying to make the shelter a better and safer place for the animals that are there.

Goals for LBL Rescue's efforts in renovating the Animal Shelter :

Raise money to help get the ceiling completely

    repaired over the dog ward.

    Estimated cost $500.00

    COMPLETED!

Raise enough money to have the shelter landscaped

with shrubs and trees.  Also arranged to have trees donated

by the Murray State Horticultural Department.

    Estimated Cost $1,500.00

     COMPLETED!

Raise enough money to remove all of the old

broken down wire dog kennels, and replace them

with new 6x8 foot long concrete walls which will be

sealed, painted, and sealed over again.

(This will cut down on the diseases spread from dog

to dog, the injuries to the dogs from being cut on

the broken wires, and the stress level since they  will be

    safely isolated from each other).

    Estimated Cost $8,000.00

     ALMOST DONE!

* Add on to the existing building in the front of the shelter.   We

would like to move the cat ward further away from the dog

ward, and turn the present cat ward into two seperate

play/visiting areas for people who are interested in adopting an

animal.  We plan on expanding with our extra space that we will

have up front and making the office area larger so that it won't

be so crowded.  Below is a blue print of what we are planning the

newley renovated shelter to look like.

   Estimated  Cost $50,000.00

PLANNING: (Plans may differ some by the time the plans are

complete.  We will try to update as changes are made.)
